All safety razor blades are coated in PTFE, making them non-recyclable at most local recycling centres.

Contrary to what many other websites state, safety razor blades cannot be recycled at local recycling centres because they are all coated in a material called PTFE which is commonly known as "Teflon".

PTFE is essential to make razor blades glide over your skin, but it also makes them difficult to recycle. For this reason, your razor blades need to be recycled at a specialist center.

To recycle your razor blades and blade tin, send them to Terracycle, a specialist recycling center with outlets in the UK/US. If you are based outside of these two locations, please search for your local specialist recycling center.
